The Children’s Miracle Network Classic starts this week at Disney’s Magnolia and Palm Golf Course’s in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Davis Love III will be there trying to defend his title along with some top names in golf including Justin Leonard, Zach Johnson and Charles Howell III. Among the field is one of the most talked about youngsters since Tiger hit the scene, Rickie Fowler and the question on everyones minds . . . will he bypass Q-School!? Rickie is heading into the event just as he would any other tournament, to play golf and have fun! His mindset is perfect and his attitude towards golf is something to be admired. With a top 5 finish, this could possibly secure his Tour Card for next year. Lets hope Rickie can pull the shots out the bag and move into the top 125 money earners! Good Luck Rickie!

The HSBC Champions got underway this week at the Sheshan Internaional Golf Club in Shanghai. One of the top groups to have been following was a brand battle between Camilo Villegas (J Lindeberg), Henrik Stenson (Hugo Boss) and Geoff Ogilvy (Puma) – 3 top players, 3 top brands! Villegas carded a 2nd round of 69 and places him tied 10th, Stenson shot 72 and is tied 23rd and Ogilvy shot 74 and is at tied 55th. Let’s see what the weekend can bring and see if any of these top players are able to climb up the leaderboard and catch Tiger!

The Isleworth Collegiate Invitational gets under way this week and TrendyGolf.com are among the sponsors of this years event. The ICI invites the top college golf teams from around America to play at the Isleworth Golf and Country Club in front of their idols such as Charles Howell III, Mark O’Meara and even the world’s number one golfer! This event gives collegiate golfers a chance to compete against other colleges both individually and as a team. Rickie Fowler competed in the event last year and with his recent success, has created even more of a buzz around the competition and has even ‘tweeted’ wishing the teams good luck!! Justin Timberlake’s Shriners Hospital Pro-Am Golf Tournament got underway this week in Las Vegas with a field of professional golfers, amateurs and celebrities all playing golf to raise money for the children’s hospital charity. Some famous names participating in the event include Davis Love III, Alice Cooper, Natalie Gulbis and Oscar De La Hoya who are all there to raise awareness for the Shriners Hospital. Justin can be seen sporting some J Lindeberg apparel along with Oscar De La Hoya.

We at Trendygolf were lucky enough to receive an invite back to the Puma Open after the 2008 tear-up and again Puma didn’t disappoint, bringing along European Tour pro’s Johan Edfors, Daniel Vancsik, Mark Brown and Zane Scotland for the 9 hole event, held at the London Club before the European Open commenced.
What started out as a bit of Texas Scramble fun (the Puma way), soon turned into serious competition after every putt hit seemed to slam into the back of the cup. After a blistering speed hole, several hand wedges, a lucky 7s, play your cards right, a lesson from the Tour Pro’s why they are Tour Pro’s and a few beers, we managed to come out on top. Unfortunately for us we were not so hot at the Puma casino, and proceeded to lose an indoor putt off by default. Oh well, the objective for the event was to show us that their collection is going to get stronger again for 2010 and to have fun whilst doing it, safe to say this was achieved emphatically on both fronts!!!

To celebrate the opening of our retail section at Urban Golf Smithfield we decided to throw a Masters Thursday bash for clients, press and friends of TRENDYGOLF.
The evening was a massive success with great prizes on offer, free booze and the unbeatable venue that is Urban Golf.

When Puma invited us to view the new Spring/Summer collection at a swanky hotel in London, we decided to drop along. After an hour of watching models strutting there stuff we looked round the new threads for 09, viewing new styles and colours that will be delivered to us early in 09. With a much bigger range for Ss09 the Puma train is moving towards their mission statement of providing golfers with a fusion of lifestyle and fashion.
