Rickie vs Rory

Rickie Fowler is one of the latest young professional golfers to hit the golfing world and has taking it by storm. Aged only 21 and having turned professional last year, Rickie has already made his mark on tour dressed head to toe in Puma Golf. A lot might say that his attire is too loud or not “traditional” enough for golf but anything goes these days on the course! Pictured below at The Barclay’s sporting a Puma Jasmine Green Polo, Purple belt accompanied with his signature Purple Monoline Cap and a pair of check pants, it is clear that Rickie has his own style and is not afraid to stand out.

Rory McIlroy, once again is a young golfer that has taken the Tour by storm having turned professional back in 2007 and now also aged 21. Since turning pro, he has created a big following and never fails to please the crowds with his golf and his charisma. With 2 professional wins under his belt, there are plenty of low scores waiting to erupt from this talent and it is only a matter of time before this happens. Known for his “fresh out of bed” look, Rory has a quieter, toned down style when compared to Rickie which appeals to a lot of golfers, both professional and amateur. This is possibly not by choice but more a sponsors way of styling. However, it would be great to see a fashion house get hold of Rory and break him away from the clothing he wears today…

This leads us nicely to the best dressed of the 2. It is clear that both of these golfers are set for an amazing future and both have got to where they are now in completely different ways. Rickie has his own style that is bold and colourful which initiates much debate over his choice of clothing for the course (his orange outfit for final days) whereas Rory has a more subtle style that ties in with a more traditional appearance. Personally, Rickie wins this contest as nowadays, more and more golfers are experimenting with colours and styles for the course which allows them to be more creative with their look. We will just have to wait and see what these 2 stars will bring to the 1st tee in the near future…
